Bilsteins?
Bilsteins?
Has anyone installed upgraded shocks in their ranger like Bilstein 5100s, Icons, Fox, etc but at standard ride height or slightly above? I cant find anyone who makes good quality shocks for these ride heights except bilstein but its only their 4600 series.
Reason being my truck is an overlander and I'm tired of the **** ride I get from cheapo shocks like Rancho 9000s etc.

Bilsetin 5100s and 4600s are essentially the same shock, with possible minor valving differences. The main difference is that the 5100s are zinc plated. You run the 5100s in the rear, but they don't make our size for the front, so you will have to go with the 4600s there.
With minimal work and some extended rod ends you could bolt in a pair of fox 2.0 resivior shocks. Bob has a write up on his truck. Basically you need just need mounts for the shocks and find the right eye to eye. Prior to doing my coilover swap, I installed my fox 2.0 shocks with the coilover brackets with no springs on them (did not have a welder at the time) rode much better even with the T bars

Thanks this is pretty much what I was looking for. I'm mostly worried about the rear at this point, maybe 2" lift length shocks as my front suspension will be SAS'd within a couple years.
