has anybody actually cycled the susp. with this setup? you need to make sure your shocks arent bottoming out or maxing out. a 2.0 shock will not fail like that if it is setup properly. even with a 5/8 shaft

Yes I have I was concerned with this when I first got my coils. I actually ran just the shocks and brackets, no coils, with the 2bats for 6months and the shafts stay decently aligned. Bumps and straps are defiantly required as things move.

I broke a cv from over compressing the suspension prior to my new bump stop set up.

Exactly. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this was a limit strap issue, because I've seen it myself. I bent a shaft slightly on one of mine from full up travel, because the UCA hit the coilovers. Once you've got a bend, it's going to be a weak point, because it's no longer pushing straight up on the shaft. I'm slightly surprised it broke at the bottom, though, and not closer to the shock body, but I don't believe at all this was an issue of the shafts being too thin.

On another note, my brother-in-law is recovering well, and he should be back to work in another week, so production on this run will be back on track. I will let you guys know when things are rolling.

Thank you for your patience.

Thanks for the input. As someone who is going to be doing this mod it makes me feel better getting positive responses from the guys who have already done this. I was getting a little nervous, as this is a substantial cash outlay. Although my off-roading is mostly mud, sand and water(that's all we have in south Jersey, lol) it puts my mind at ease to see that most think it was a problem with the setup and not the setup itself. And ME00Stepside, I'm glad you brother-in-law is on the mend. Here's wishing him a speedy recovery.

yea i just wanted to throw that out there so people dont get the wrong idea. shafts always break at the bottom when used as a bump stop becuase the bottom cap/piston hold the shaft straight when its inside the body

Thanks BLK02. I like to have all the info at hand when I'm going to lay out this much cash. Maybe you can answer this, if not maybe someone out there can. I've read all the threads on this and, unless I overlooked it I can't find anywhere how to figure out the length of the limit strap. It's probably really obvious and staring me in the face. Is it something you can figure out ahead of time, or after the coilovers are installed and you unload the suspension and measure? Thanks for any input.

Limit strap length depends on your set up. I use 10in straps on super lifted trucks (8in is recommended for stock height)

Here's some pictures of how I have done straps. They are set 1 in prior to over extension ( recheck after straps strech)

Hi, is there any way to still get in on a pair? I was referred to here from another forum... I'd prefer powder-coated but if you've only got raw available I'd take that just as quickly! Let me know if there's still room on the list or if anyone has had to cancel -- I can pay you today

Hi guys, I just wanted to post a quick update:

My brother-in-law is back to work and has been cutting the parts. He's going to let me know soon how many he got out of the current stock. If it's not enough, we'll order more stock and start another batch.

Stay tuned!

Because I keep getting PMs asking about pricing. LOL:

Latest Pricing:
Kit with powdercoated brackets: $290
Kit with raw brackets: $270

Shipping:
$17 US
$46 Canada

Kit includes:
4 brackets (2 upper, 2 lower)
4 gussets to reinforce shock tower
2 shock tower spacers for upper mounts
8 rod end spacers (for 1/2" wide rod ends--like Fox)
All hardware to install--grade 8 zinc plated

What else you will need:
2 coilover shocks
2 coil springs
2 limit straps and brackets

What you may need:
Bump stops if you are lifting your truck at the same time, but if you already have a Superlift, or if you are remaining at stock height, you can reuse what you have. You simply need to trim back the bracket on the frame where the bump stop mounts, so that the coilover will clear it. You then redrill a hole in the remaining part of the bracket and mount the bump stop further in.
