Coilover Conversion Finally

After a few weeks of research and parts hunting. this past weekend I was finally able to complete my fox coil over conversion and all I can say is that I couldnt be happier with it. this mod is something that I should have completed much sooner. I will get some pics of the finished product up shortly. The parts list is as follows:

1/4 inch steel for the coil bucket supports.
Fox coilovers
Eibach springs
Coilover brackets(half was done by lemiller/I did the other half)
RCD bucket adapters
About $60 worth of grade 8 hardware
James Duff Stainless brake lines
Most importantly, a mig welder lol

As i said, I will get pictures of the finished product up shortly

I'm very curious. I was ready to purchase the 'kit' from ORW until they pulled the plug. Also have access to an Amada laser(for cutting the plate) and several friends who just happen to be welders.

Check out the "Coilover Brackets" thread. I am working on them. I just posted details and I'm looking to find out how much interest there really is.

Well as promised. Here are some pics of my coil over conversion. The brackets and coils are powdercoated bomber orange. The setup I am running is:

1. Fox coilovers
2. Brackets of course
3. All grade 8 hardware
4. James Duff stainless brake lines
5. 12 inch offroad warehouse limit straps
6. 2 offroad warehouse upper limit strap gussets that I welded to the frame
7. 2 lower grade 8 limit strap gussets from offroad warehouse.
8. Custom sway bar end links that I made.
9. New upper control arms
10. 1/4 inch plate for the sock bucket supports
And while I had my truck all apart, I decided to add a front hitch.

The Hitch was originally a rear hitch, I cut out a section of the crossmember and welded it in place.

On your front hitch, did you just weld it to the crossmember only??? Hard to see in in the picture...

I cut part of the crossmember out and welded it in the space that was left from the cutout. I left some of the tube that was originally behind the hitch attached to add extra support to the crossmember. Then I welded it In place. I was originally going to weld the whole tube to the rear of the crossmember but because of space constraints I had to cut it down.

Did you use a spacer above the upper bracket between the bracket and the shock mount?

yes I do have the shock tower adapter on top of my brackets. They were a pita to find. I had to call rcd and feed them a line of bull in order to have them send me some lol.

Trash. The coilovers take the place of the torsion bars

For current coilover conversion brackets there is an existing (and long running) thread here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/suspen...ackets-119089/
