The right shackles? 6400?
Purchasing my suspension kit next week so i need to know if these are the right shackles.
Bell Tech 6400 Belltech Suspension Lowering Kits - Trucks
my understanding is these will raise our rangers rear end by 2 inches because chevy has an under frame connection and we have a upper, or vice versa.. Anyways is this all im going to need to raise the end of my truck?
Thanks in ADVANCE,
Andrew

They indeed push your axle forward. It cost me my rear tires tread... a lot of it actually
I have since then removed the shackles, sold them for cheap and put the stock ones back on for now until i get a set of skyjacker leafs. I would get an add-a-leaf kit, explorer leaf packs, or skyjackers.

Okay thanks for that pic and telling us what happened. I guess ill learn from your mistake on this one. By chance do you know which of the leaf springs you listed above will have the least impact on ride stiffness? Im getting some bilstein shocks so hopefully that will help but i need that height without stiffness... Would u-bolt kit work? i know there has to be another way

I have the same problem in my truck. I've ripped the flair off once before and chewed up my tire but I had the same problem with the stock shackles also so I just assumed it was a goofy design on fords part. I'm jut gonna order me some skyjacker leafs tho and do it right.
OH WOW

Mine ripped the flare outward, pulled the bedside in front of the tire out away from the truck a bit and also ruined my tire. The passenger side didn't get that chewed up but it still did also.
I've heard that skyjackers ride really well but i have also heard that explorer leafs without the rear block also ride really well and reduce axle wrap, I personally haven't had any personal experience with either. Regardless of which way i go, im pulling the rear block to get less axle wrap.

Thats with the belltech 6400 shackles on the LOWER setting, torsion bars cranked to about 80% and 31's. I managed to touch a rear flare once, didn't do any damage to anything though. When I did touch the flare though, I had the rear tire stuffed pretty good. If your not running huge tires and the truck is mostly on the street you will be fine with shackles IMHO

I was wondering since you have a 3" body lift and not suspension could that be the sole reason why your shackles cut into your tire. I could be wrong but it just seems like most people on here who have suspension lifts go with the shackles and i have heard no problems. Well either way shackles are the cheapest way to go but not if the above happens but skyjackers @ $280 is alittle expensive. I'll await some more feedback and make a final decsion.. regardless thanks for the info

Not true. I got almost an inch of lift. That was all I was looking for with only 31's. Had i gone to 32's or 33x10.5 I would have wanted the extra inch

if you waited til your leafs begin to settle in you'll have no lift at all. you had an 07 it was technically brand new leaf packs. i ran 31s stock

I actually have been running some Beltech shackles for a while now (over a year) and have had -no- issues.. running some aggressive tread 33" tires, and a 3" bodylift - no issues whatsoever, not sure how you ruined your tires like that.. but it must have been a fluke of some sort!
i need skyjackers baddddd

I will eventually upgrade to skyjackers but i need the shackles to go with my suspension because i dont want some pre runner look right off that bat, or at all. So it looks like its gonna be shackles for me right now. I don't go offroading so ill be fine with shackles.. i hope
