ok heres the scoop.

hit a rut jacked up my left front suspension, replace bent parts with new and got skyjacker leveling coils....since front coils were toast. ok now the front end is all squared away now turn my focus to the rear suspension.


so i bought trents old leaf packs form his 04' ranger. they are 4 leaf and i think he said only 12k miles on them......so i figgured id get my truck back up to stock ride height since my stock 3 leaf packs are worn severely also. i install the packs i just bought and set the ruck down.....sat right on down to the same height as my old ones..... so im thinkin ill just graft the leafs with a few mods to my old top leaf into the used packs i just bought..... I.E. Frankinleaf

What im looking to do with my leaf packs.....

i tow a fair amount...and haul stuff alot. never a real set weigh i haul or tow but even on the old front coils and my old leaf packs i stand in the bed and the rear saged down from a rake, and im only 2 buck n some change i dont really care much about ride, looking for load capability.

Reasons for not doing.....

AAL's feel like a band aid and since they will be all thats really holding the leaf pack up some they will soon start to sag. "about" the same concept as Frankinleaf.

shackles, dont need lift and even my weight in the bed my leafs are flat or back arched.

Blocks, Read above.

Lift leafs, dont really need LIFT, the front end is only leveled to stock suspension. so a stock rear pack that isent worn and dearched.

SOOOO heres my question whats a good place to get Leaf Packs? Jcwhitney has some stock and heavy duty leafs listed any .02 cents opinion on them? anyone suggest a good online spring shop? (cept deavers) i think im just going to pay and git er done right and have some custom packs made at a local shop.....

soo suggestions.

if your looking for load capacity I'd say you should invest in chevy leaf springs.

 

I did that with mine. I have an extra leaf from a pack another guy took off. I put the longest leaf without the eye in the pack. The next leaf below the one with the mounting eyes is repeated twice if you want to look at it that way. It helps but it's not a lot of lift. It's good though if you're carrying a full size 35" spare, lot of tools, spare parts and a cap like I am.

 

dont exactley wanna be cuttin hangers loose and moving them.

n3elz, yea i might do the frankin leaf but then again sorta feels not worht it.


BTW: no so much lifting it, as im trying to get back to UN sagged height

 

It buys you back some small height, and stops the "bleeding" -- that is, it seems to help keep them from sagging further.
