Explorer leaf springs vs. Sport Trac leaf springs
I was very happy with the ST springs and was able to eliminate the lift blocks and maintain my desired ride height. I did have to use the chevy lift shackles to keep my lift, but thats also because of how much weight I carried around with me. I would just get whatever you can find cheap and locally at your JY. But, if you have a choice, I would use the ST springs.
this is the perfect thread i was looking for, i was looking at my trucks leaf springs and noticed mine are flatting out for what ever reason and was looking at a lkq yard and was wondering if anybody had a thread on here about swapping them out thank you.... to bad no sport tracs where im at but plenty of explorers
Nice ride, work & post PunkRockPilot. Thanks. I plan on trying this ('05 Fx4 4L). Gotta confirm, yours is 4wd, yes? If so, minus the chevy shackles, you were just about where I am. I have no body kit, but 6 mos. ago up-sized tires & wheels, 2" suspsn lift (t-keys & blocks, & 4 shocks). I run empty on 4-laners most times, & my LS's are way, way to stiff now. Sounds like this will be proper both in lift & highway handling for me too. I'll open a new thread later, but priority, I'm suddenly flunking inspection (rust - rockers & parts of my bed). Cul8r...
