33 inch tires on factory suspension
Hi everybody, I have a 99 ranger sport supercab 4x4, and was wondering if i could clear 33s without rubbing too bad. Its got 3" blocks in the rear from the factory and i cranked the torsion bars up around 2". If i got 33x12.5r15 tires, would i need more lift? also i could settle for less wide tires like 10" or so if that means not adding anymore lift, thanks!

With 33s and no lift you will have to trim the lower valance on the front bumper and possibly some of the inner fender. The rear will rub the fender flares and possibly the inside of the wheel opening on the bed with a 12.5" wide tire, with a 10" I'm not real sure on the rear, but the front will still need the valance cut.
If the cost of a lift is the issue, you can always pick up a 3" body lift from summit for between $145 and $180 depending on if they have a sale or not. Lots of us run them with no issues, I still rubbed on my fender flares even with a body lift at full flex and so I removed them and had to cut about 1" off the bed on front of the wheel to keep the tire from rubbing. If you do not do any hard wheeling this should not be an issue.
Or you can spend the big bucks and get a 4" Superlift. They run about $1500 after shipping and another $500 for a new front drive shaft.
