Front higher than back.

I have the DJM 2/3 lowering kit and had it installed last Weds. At first, the front was riding on the front bump stops, so it sat a tad higher than the front. So i replaced the front bump stops with some smaller aftermarket ones and it still sits about 1/2" - 1" higher then the rear. Will the front Springs eventually 'settle' into place and even out? I have the rear shackle as high as it will go, so the rear wont go up anymore.

do u have the leafs over or under the axel? if theyre still ontop you might be able to just add a small block and if the front eventually does settle lower just remove the block

Not really. Ordered online. As for flipping, it would be too much work. I would have to repay the place to flip it back. I am really just hoping the spring will settle some. I am not sure if it will. I have heard of some lowering kits, the lowered drop coils actually lower just a tad more over time, but I dont know if DJM drop coils will or not.

Did you install a new shackle in the rear? The springs should settle, but they might have just fliped the rear, giving you 5" of drop in the back.

yes, the shackle is installed. Its up as high as it will go. I measured yesterday and the front is about 4 3/4" off of the front tire, rear is about 4" off the tire.

Welcome to the world of lowering gone wrong I dropped mine and the *** sits lower then the front and I hate it and just like u its only like an inch. Id say with u and the coils dont worry about it as u drive it more they will settle in and everything should level out with me im hoping when I get smaller tires mine will even out until then if anyone asks why ur back sits lower then the front tell em u got bags and u like to roll around with the rear air'd down alittle.

yea i had that problem also with the djm 2/3 drop kit. my rear went lower than the front and having a 4cyl made it worse. they should settle but if it still isnt enough. you can get some 3" belltech coils(about 130 bux) some c-arms which is another 400 bux new, or you can trim the djm coils. when i got my c-arms, i cut my djm coils to get another inch of drop. since i have a 4 cyl, i cut a little bit, about half a coil off of each coil and because of ranger lean, i cut just a tiny but more off of the passenger side coil to help it. and i got another inch of drop to get a 5" drop. you can trim the coils a little bit depending on the size of your engine. good luck man

Well, I am not sure if I am going to do much more. I am happy with how it is and I think (hope) it will settle. As soon as Dodge puts the Hemi in the Dakota, I will sell it.

Regret It

I really wish I would have read this thread before I decided to lower my truck. I put in the DJM 2/3 kit and my front sits 1.5" higher than the rear. I paid a shop to do it and I went through the whole install myself after getting it back. Everything is as it should be and verified it by dissambling a portion of the rear and then digging into the front (I was going to cut the DJM coils but I'm over it). I really regret doing it and I am going to put it back to stock.

Oh... and to make matters worse, this flip interferes with my Helwig rear sway bar, so I had to take that off. Kind of defeats the purpose as I was going for better handling.

Oh.... and the shop threw out all my old **** without asking me if I wanted to keep it so now I have to buy new coils, spring plates and I'm never going back there again.

So done ******* with this.

I have a 4 cyl 07.
