i know i need the lower A arms in order to achieve the 4" drop, do i need the upper arms right away, or could i hold off on them? the DJM website says required to correct alignment... just how bad would the alignment be without the upper arms?

you need them or you will have camber you cannot correct, lets just say I needed 2.5 degree adjustable eccentrics with my djm uppers to correct the camber/toe.

You might be able to get away without the upper arms, but you save money when you buy the whole kit, and that comes with the upper arms so why chance it?
That said, with the DJM arms on my truck, I have the eccentrics adjusted all the way in, and still can't achieve the 1* negative camber I want. with the stock uppers and the eccentrics, I would have more adjustment. Remember, all trucks are a bit different, thats why you have different alignment plates from the factory.
if you plan on going lower than the 4" at some point, then yes, you will need the upper arms for sure then.

once you add the arms in the front with coils you get more than 4" once it settles, its more like 5.

i know it needs rims, but i have never been a real big fan of aftermarket rims, i love the old cragars... the ones they have out these days just look like junk IMHO

rally's are too chevy look, and smoothies are alright, just doesn't fit the truck... i've never really been big on aftermarket wheels, i just put these on 3 months ago, and they are gonna stay there for a while

what size are you running?

Those look rather beefy to running on a 4 inch drop up front, you will definitely rub if they are over 26" in diameter
