leaf spring shackle brackets

ok i dont know what to do anymore, i wanted to replace the shackles and brackets for my leaf springs cuz like everyone elses mines worn and crap and some new ones wouldnt hurt right? wrong! i called the ford dealership in my area to see how much it would be for some new shackles brackets--$50 each, and thats only for the bracket NOT the shackle! after i heard that i didnt even want to hear the price for the shackle itself. this really poses a problem cuz i dont wanna spend over $200 replacing shackles and brackets for the rear leafs. Is there anything else i can do? any tips ideas would be great.

The last time I checked the price of the shackle frame brackets, it was about US$25 ea from the dealer. Dealers can charge any price they want for parts - try checking other Ford dealers and online Ford parts sites.

thats why I loved having connections in the Ford parts department. I replaced both sides of my 94 ranger's shackles and hangers. Total cost for all 4 peices... $15 :)
