Leaky seal by CV
Leaky seal by CV
Just asking on here to get the correct terminology for the name of the seal i need to replace.
I have a small leak where the passenger side CV connects to the differential tube.
Is this the Pinion seal or just "Axle Seal"

Thanks

idk what u was thinking by pinion seal...I got to thinking about it after i posted it in class...Durr, lol...
Im not sure which part is correct...
Front seal, ranger - 4wd, w/o beam axle - 4WD, W/O BEAM AXLE 98-07 $33.58
or
Axle seals, ranger, right - 4wd, w/o beam axle - 4WD, W/O BEAM AXLE 98-07 $12.78
I called the Dealer for a price, 66 bucks! I cant see how the seal would be 12.78, thats why i thought it might be the one for 33.58, but it dosent say axle seal..

It's pretty cheap, should be about 10 bucks each or so, but not sure how easy it is w/o the axle out. They are different left and right so be careful. Might as well do both if you drop the diff. I did mine when I dropped the front diff for other stuff jsut "in case". It's just a simple seal, but make sure you have big sockets or the tool to seat seals. Makes it much quicker.
