IFS vs TIB
Ive got some money put teogeather to buy a new truck, I would like to go with another ranger but I dont know what I want to go with( IFS or TIB) what are some of the pros and cons of the two. I need a second opnions. I want to buil the truck so it can handle a little bit of everything from climbing small rocks to good old mudslinging.

TTB= Twin Traction Beam (the front suspension system used on the '97 and older Ranger 4x4 models.)
TIB= Twin "I" Beam (the front suspension system used on the '97 and older Ranger 4x2 models.)
ALL FRONT SUSPENSIONS IN RANGERS ARE IFS.....Independent Front Suspension.....just they had 2 different designs of the IFS....
The TTB is a good off road design, but isn't too practical for on road driving.....because the way it pivots, it allows the inner part of the tire to contact the road more, causing faster inner tire wear........they are GREAT off road because they pivot in the center of the truck allowing for one side to fully flex, and the other to have a the full contact patch of the tire on the ground...........
in a 2wd....the TIB is a good for desert trucks because you can get extreme travel from how they pivot in the center of the truck......
both are super cheap to lift compared to the new SLA front suspensions.....The TTB and TIB are very simular to a solid axle, but are still a IFS suspension.......the TTB and TIB are less complicated, and have less parts to try to drop when in a lifting condition....you can have a TTB or TIB suspension out of a truck in no time........
It took gumby, scott, and myself about 30 minutes to get 1 side of mine almost out last Saturday.....PS- scott was even working on his race car....
