if i wana lift the back of my 06 sport can i just put new shocks on the read will it raise it up

 

No shocks don't give any lift. To lift the rear you can use Chevy drop shackles, Add A Leaf (aal), explorer leaf springs,

I have the drop shackles and I got about 1.5 inch of lift out of them and they are fairly simple to install.

 

^ Wrong. Believe it or not, but the Monroe Sensa-trac with the coil springs on them lifted the rear of my buddies dodge an inch and a half.

 

shocks dont add lift

 

youll get a little lift with those gay coils on the shocks but they are like a band aid, and put unnecessary load on the shock mounting points. Otherwise, shocks are only there to eliminate suspension oscillation.

 

^ Exactly right. I was just answering the OPs question. Shackles are about the cheapest way to gainin a little bit of lift.

They will, but like mentioned above that's not what they're meant to do!

 

Yeah I know Lol. On small trucks they will give a rougher ride there meant for more load carrying.



But to OP search Belltech shackles

 

i put the load shocks on my 08 fx4 to help with towing my bass boat. they did raise the rear about a inch but my other shocks were wore out. they put the natural curve of the leaf spring back and actually ride nice compared to the wore out ranchos . like said before do a shackle lift, im sure its cheaper than buying new shocks

 

im lookin at lift blocks that would rase it but could i use my stock shocks thats on it now

 

You'll be fine. Just order a 4" lift block from rough country and remove the stock block.

I dont own a lift and I've swapped engines, axles...etc. Jackstands and a creeper are your friend.

 

You definitely don't need it... just makes some things a lot easier!

 

Screw a bigger block. Do it right get an AAL, explorer leaf pack or shackle. The stock is to tall imo. 4" is stupid a set of AAL's runs $35 shipped comes with the centerpin etc.
