longer shocks for fabtech spindle lift

Two questions....

First off...has anyone had to run longer shocks then what fabtech sells with there 3" spindle lift kit?

Second....does anyone know how to acheive more lift with a fabtech spindle lift?, such as the shackles i keep reading so much about, can you put those on along with the lift leaf springs and get more lift?

yes you can run larger shackles to get a higher lift in the rear of your ranger along with blocks but shackles might be just enough to get you to the height you need and my opinion is to call camburg and ask them what size shock they run with thier crs race springs and get the part number and go buy them from a local shop ( their bilstein shocks ) then go and find out what size shock youll need for the rear because fabtech shocks are crap... and go get a set of bilsteins to run in the rear... trust me its worth the extra penny and youll love the improved handling and softer ride

Why do you want longer shocks for a spindle lift? The spindles don't change the geometry of the suspension, you could run the factory shocks without a problem.

Unless you are talking about longer shocks for the rear? To accommodate the shackle along with the lift spring?

I went to 4wheelparts because a had a front shocks come loose and the bushings and nut fell off, so i went to get it fixed and while i was there the guy told me i needed a longer shock. I havn't had any problems with the fabtech shocks (and i have been running them for 4 years)

Also the shackles will add another 1 1/2" on to my 2" add a leaf system?

What is there to lift the front the same 1 1/2" or 2" to level it back out.

I want to have around 5" or 5.5" total lift when its all said and done, (but im not really wanting to do body, so thats why i was seeing what my options were.)
