Lowering 88 ranger GT

I picked up a ranger gt about 2 weeks ago. I have a couple of question. I want to lower the fron using 2 inch coils. Tha will put the fender about an inch above the stock tires the way I measured. Were the GT's lower than the reugular rangers from the factory? On the rear if I flip the axle over the spring and add shackles would this set level wit hthe front? Where can I get a flip for the rear?

I serached a bit but didnt come up with too much.

Wow! That is an awesome find! I have no info for you just wanted to tell you that's a rare Ranger and a great find. If it's a real GT hang on to that for a long time..or sell it to me whatever :)

you can never really tell anything with suspension and tires until its done. like when you go to bigger tires, no matter how much you measure you will never be able to tell for sure until they are in there.

when i put my brother's stock wheels and tires(25s or 26s) i put my 32s up to the truck and the top of the tire went past the top of the fender.

all flip kits for rear axles are pretty much universal since your welding the perch to the axle anyway.

2 or 3 inch coils

Im new to fords and rangers. I cant decide between 2 and 3 inch coils. Im afraid if I get 2 inch it may not actually be 2 inches. Im going to have the welding shop down the road relocate the leafs below the axle. They know what they are adoing and told me they would get it all set right for $100. So I need to get the fron lowered and they will lower and level the rear.

I got this GT in exchange for about 8 hours or so of mechanical work.

It is a real GT. It runs great but the body was let go. All the ground effects are in great condition but I need fenders a hood. CArpet a tailgate and would like to find blue 60/40 seats to replace the 2 buckets that are shot.
also want to fix the AC and add power windows. I just put in power locks and keyless entry. Also cant get the cruise to work. All the electrical seems in tact for the cruise but it just wont set.

get 3" dropped I beams so your camber won't be screwed....

I flip the shackles in the rear and not flip it... jsut my personal opion cause the flip will actually give you about 5" of drop and well you might look like you're BULLYDOGGING around (ie *** end lower than the front)

I have a set of 3" DJM Dream Beams for sale. Never been used. They sell new for $375 + shipping, I am asking $250 + shipping. Although I am not sure which Gen the 88' is. Mine are for a Gen 1. Which headlights do you have?

gen 2 = 89-92
gen 3 = 93-97
gen 4 = 98-00
gen 5 = 01+

Would like to

I really would like too, But I just cant afford too right now. I was going with coils for 2 reasons, One being I can get a set for less than $100. Im really on a tight budget to get this lowered. Probably in the future when I can afford too thats what i would do.
