lowering my 02 2wd 3.0 xlt

hello iam new and not sure if iam posting this in the right area or not but......

I have a 02 xlt and the rear shackles broke so I figure since I have to be back there anyways might as well lower it. don't really want to notch the frame so nothing crazy. was thinking something between 4-6 drop all around. iam pretty handy with a wrench and was thinking of making my rear flip kit myself. just cut some c-channel. is it worth it to do it myself or less headache to just buy the flip kit? now for the front iam just gonna buy a kit. don't want to mess with camber problems. any links and advice would be appreciated. first time lowering a truck and aint trying to bite off more then I can chew. thanks!
