Maybe I'm looking at this completely wrong, expo 8.8" without rewelding spring perch

Okay, so I've already had my expo 8.8 perches rewelded, then I found this:
http://www.therangerstation.com/Maga.../axle_flip.htm
Now, couldnt the same basic idea apply, I mean everything done here except the opposite.
Use the flip bracket over the expo axle to sit in the perch. Instead of here where it goes under the axle.
Maybe I make no sense but I though it was an interesting idea, and I'm probably so wrong it's ridiculous, but not looking at the axles side by side, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I confused myself at first.
But use the flip bracket in the same way except over the axle with the spring on top.
I see no major issues with doing it this way. If I hadn't already had mine rewelded I would try it.

I've actually seen a truck TV show (I think it is called Trucks)
They did an axle flip, and it was pretty interesting.
Edit: my bad something different.

Yeah this would work. But what about the shock mounts still needing to be welded on? Explorers mount their shocks to the leaf spring plate. Sorta defeats the purpose of using a non-welded spring perch.
My 2 cents says do it right the first time and reweld the perches on top, along with shock mounts...even if you don't own one, its not hard to find somebody that does (and likes beer).

Half *** well is half ***, lol. Having welded shock mounts and a non welded flip perch would keep me up at night.
Its seriously is like 30 min of welding....1.5 hrs max of prep (including weld time) so just get another axle, and weld it all up or have someone do for you.
