Are my shackles flipped?

I know this sounds stupid but I just bought a 2004 Ranger XL 2wd and it is built to look like a prerunner so the rear of the truck sits lower than the front. Now the PO took out all but the 2 longest leafs in the rear springs but my rear shackles are also swinging above the mounting brackets? Is this how they are from the factory? Or did the PO flip them like this to get the rear end lower?

Right now the rear of the truck sits so the rear bump stops have about 1" to 1.5" between them and the axle. I've read alot on here about people using the Belltech shackles to lift the rear of their trucks and if I were to do that how it sits now it would actually lower it.

I want to lift the rear back up so it isn't so low and isn't bumping off the bumpstops all the time and if the shackles are able to be flipped over I will do that instead of swapping the springs right away.

Just curious as to how the rear shackles are positioned from the factory. Any pics will help also!

Thanks!

Robbie

Ok sweet! I figured they probably have been because longer shackles would lower mine and the bolts that hold the brackets on are new. Thanks guys!

looking at the other pics of your truck. im fairly certain ur shackles are flipped. that's one of the first things you can do that doesn't cost any money if your building a prerunner

Ya I know alot of the built prerunners use inverted shackles but with how how low mine is right now I think I'm going to flip them back to pick the rear end up until I can get some new leaf springs. It rides like crap and is constantly bouncing off the bump stops.

I have leaf springs for sale. They are off of my 08 and have about 8,000 miles on them.

Ya i figured the flip was to account for the longer leaf springs.

I'll take pics tonight to show you all what I mean.
