I dont think so, the instructions tell you to do it Shanes way.

yeah I just used channel locks. clamped it with my feet and cranked the bolt out. sux doing it by yourself haha

Ok tried the pipe wrench and nothing. It keeps on twisting out of the channel locks. Maybe I just need bigger channel locks.

yeah maybe, but I had to try many many times, finally found a spot that I grooved out that would hold

Oh and to top off this great day, the guy I was gonna get 33s from backed out on me. No hard feelings about it but its a little disappointing. Tomorrow will be a better day though.
