What Suspension Lift Should I Get??
Hey all!!
I just got a 1999 Ranger 4x4. It has the 3.0 V6 and manual transmission. And best of all, its the extended cab.
But I'm just wondering, what suspension lifts do you guys recommend?? I'm looking to get only 3-4" to fit 33's underneath. I've never done a lift before so any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

5.5" RCD is the only way to go, imo. Gets rid of the torsion bars, and adds coil overs. pretty trick suspension.
There is also the 4" Superlift avaliable, but it's all drop brackets....and i hate drop brackets everywhere. It's basicially the front suspension dropped down, so what drug before still drags(torsion bars and front crossmember)
Superlift can be installed by the home mechanic using normal hand tools and a air compressor. The RCD i believe there's brackets and need welded on, so if you don't know how to weld, or don't trust your welds, i'd have someone do it for ya.

Hey Fx4wannabe01, I saw on your profile that you only have a 1" body lift and are running 32x11.50's. I was just wondering if you've ever had any rubbing of your tires at all. And I was wondering how much you cranked your torsion bars up?? Which is one thing I don't really understand much.

don't put the RCD on a 99
First hand experience right here, it probably has a LOT to do with the way i drive my truck off road. if your very hard you'll be replacing CV shafts all the time..
actually, as long as you don't BEAT on it, you shouldnt have any problems. i wheeled mine before i left Texas on multiple occasions and never had an issue, up here with the whole front end beat up i'm breaking driver cv shafts like crazy... its up to you on how you want to run your truck. the Coil overs are pretty sweet i'm not going to lie
