Could you give us more info on your truck, auto? 4x4?

Does this happen consistently or just every now and then?

I have a 2003 Ranger Super Cab Edge 4.0 V6 FX4. It happens usually with bumps or speed bump, no noise on the flat top.

Could be sway bar end links, sway bar bushings, shocks, upper ball joints, lower ball joints, tie rod ends, loose lug nuts.

My suggestion is to start with the sway bar end links. Should be a 15mm at one end at 16mm at the other. They may look/feel tight and still make noise, they need to be very tight.
Ball joints are also common problems. Sometimes it helps to have a friend bounce the truck around while you lay under the truck and listen to try and isolate the noise.

hi. i just had tha same prob with my truck. it was the end links. if you hold the lower bushing and get someone to push up and down on the truck you might feel movement in the link. i know i did. just replaced them today and now the noise is gone.

Did you try tightening the end links yet?

There is a front anti sway bar. It is attached to the frame behind the front suspension, on the ends it makes a turn up toward the suspension. On each end there is a link that attaches it to the lower control arm.
Here is a picture of the end link, although mine is an aftermarket piece.

Yours should be one long bolt, with a nut at the other end, and bushings/spacers in the middle. Try tightening both of the endlinks down as much as possible.

Or take the truck to a shop, have them check the ball joints, tie rod ends and sway bar end links. These are all common issues.

I too am having the same issue. I replaced my shocks a few weeks ago and didnt hear any noises. Then about 2 weeks ago I went and had the upper control arms replaced and an alignment. Thats when I started noticing the noises.

Also, can explain how the power steering pump could cause this issue? We're pretty sure mine is going bad since Im getting some noise when turning the wheel right and if thats the problem it would save me a some time.

like a couple others said, check the sway bar links and bushings. you can just bang hard on the bar with your hand and if there is any play its time to replace either the bushings or links, or both. you might as well considering they are like 15 for both bushings and 15 per end link

You could swing it to a local shop and ask how much to check out the suspension -- Most places will shake down the front end, and listen for noises and tell you what the noise is for like $20 or so.

The sway bar links kind of seem to have a mind of their own when they start making noises. Mine make a noise...what I did was make sure my ball joints/tie rods were all tight, then I had someone bounce the front while I put my hand on the links...so I could feel the movement.
