OEM Low Friction ball joints.

I Bought new Lower Control arms for 2010 Ford Ranger 2 wheel drive. Bought them from dealership and the ball joints slide around in the sockets with my Pinky that easily.... Im wondering if these are the Low Friction style ball joints. If Anybody has any insight id love to hear it. Sincerely Mike

I replaced the lowers in my gfs 2008 Ranger almost 5 years ago. Since then, we married and I bought her a new Escape. The ranger is mine now and I recently did a bunch of work on the front end replacing components and putting lift spindles in. I noticed the balljoint I replaced was kinda loose in the control arm. They are Moogs. I warrantied them and when replaced, I put a couple of 1 inch welds on them to the lower A arm to keep them still.

Also, how the truck sits, it pushes the ball joint into the control arm. If you maybe "got air", or with the truck on a lift, the ball joint could have pressure pulling it out(downwards). If it was loose in the arm, the only thing holding it in would be the snap ring..

Im talking about the ball Assembly in the socket ….. Moog wouldn't be a low friction ball joint. Your casings sound like they arnt actually arnt fitting tight inside the control arm and yes like wood said there should be a snap ring to hold it in place.
