You also have to take into consideration I have Rancho shocks stock on my FX4. Because of the extra shock absorption, that can make a difference. I don't know whether shocks that are not an aftermarket vendor on other rangers are much different than the aftermarket vendors for the FX4's. For instance, FX4 level 2's had bilstien shocks and the normal FX4's have Rancho.

On-line dimensions I found list the shackle at 12 inches long. I forget how long my RCD shackle is, but most likely these would become lowering shackles (what they are advertised as) for me. My rear sits 1-1.25 inch higher than my front. Front's sitting at 40 inches from lower, inner fender to level ground.

Interesting, my RCD shackles are around 11 inches (rough measurement).

No it won't work on your 04. You already have the correct keys. 08+ sit lower than pre-08's because of the keys and I think shackles(??) so people buy pre-08 keys and swap them in so they are the same height as say, your truck would be.

Just got a couple questions about the pre-key mod. whats the differences between the aftermarket lift keys and the 07 keys? And with going with a 2007 4x4 ranger keys they will fit my 2009 4x4 ranger? Thanks!

yes those 07 4x4 keys will work perfect in your 09..

do a search here on RF for aftermarket keys.. its a bit of a debate if they are "safe" for your front end... they allow even more crank than the stock keys, just go for the 07 keys... they will suit you fine, then before you know it you'll want a body lift
