Quick question

I decided I wanted to level out my truck. So I want to lower the back, not raise the front. It's 2wd. I seen it has blocks over the rear axle under the leaf springs. If I make smaller blocks at the right height will this work properly? I need about a inch and a half lower in the back.

Ok thanks guys, looks like I have some work to do. Ill try taking them out first and go from there. I think 2" would be too much. I might have to make blocks. I'm not sure about the u-bolts maybe I will need new ones.

you should have t-bars so just crank those down if you take the rear blocks out.

Will this affect the ride at all?

You are referring to FX2.3? cranking them down will improve handling, but only because you are lowering the center of gravity on the truck. The 1/2" or so that you will be lowering the truck to level it out, won't make too much difference in the ride or handling, but will help the looks X1000.

Will I have to get an alignment in the front? Also how do I crank the t-bars down, never done that before. Has anyone done this, or know if I will need new u-bolts?

Altering ride height alters alignment. have it checked to save your tires.

Ok I know how to do everything except adjust the torsion bar? I need to get four new u-blots and a front end alignment after.

There's a bolt at the rear of the torsion bar. loosen it. (one way will raise truck, one will lower. Most were 17mm IIRC (its been awhile so that could be wrong). could have been 15. ah heck I can't remember. just take a few sockets with you.

HINTS: use an impact, much faster than by hand.

- Do one side (leave it 1/4 inch or so higher than you want), then do the other side...then re ck 1st side. it will drop a little. If you're very heavy I suggest ballasting the truck when doing the measurements. (unless you want it to sit lop-sided when you're in it.)
