The gussets are included in the kit. You weld them to the upper shock mount and to the frame. The reason for this is that once you remove the torsion bars, the entire weight of the truck is resting on the coilovers and their mounts... which happens to be the upper shock mount. The shock mount was not designed to hold the entire weight of the truck, only the resistive force of the shock when it's compressed. To safely hold the weight of the truck, you need to weld those gussets on to support the shock mount. If you don't, you might hit a bump and rip out the shock mount. And THAT, my friend, would really suck.

nah he modified the stock skid plate. and he painted all the stuff when he put hte lift on.
