Replace Shocks on 2011 Ford Ranger 4.0L 4x4

Hello,

im looking to replace the shocks on my 2011 ford ranger 4x4. I’m looking for something a little stiffer or something that could hold the truck up a little more. How do you know if your shocks are getting soft/old?

any recommendations of good models?

There are usually two shocks recommended for these trucks, Monroe (Parts Stores) and Bilstein (Online). Monroes are budget friendly, and there are a few different versions (levels of dampening) available. Bilstein has two versions for our trucks, but they are well suited for Rangers, and Ford even put them on the Level II Rangers at the factory. They are a little more expensive, but they seem to last for a long time. The ones I have on my truck are from around 2015 or so, and still do their job today.
