Rough country 5” lift for 4x4 questions

Hey does anyone have this lift? If so, why are 17” wheels a requirement? Does it have to do with the bigger knuckles? I just bought new 16” and really don’t wanna buy another set. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure it has to do with knuckle clearance. A 16 would probably fit, but just need enough offset to clear the knuckle

17s are required to clear the tie rod end on the new knuckles, 15s/16s with enough offset or spacers will also clear though
