just thinking right now... i got an 87 ranger 2wd... what will it take to do a sas on my truck. what parts off of what trucks? i know it would be a good bit of work. i'm already going to put a 302 in it... i hope this year. i know i need a transfer case. but which transfer case I don't know. what front axle would i need. steering? suspension? and how much would i have to fab? does the axle need to be shortened? did i forget anything?

 

its pretty straight forward on our trucks(82-97). do a little searching and read the pre 97 sas lots of good info.

 

find an 4x4 explorer with a 5.0L! swap the motor trans transfercase! do alot of searching!

 

^^ you dont want a ford explorer tcase find a manual 1354

 

well the 302 i'm hope it will put out 300 to 350 hp. so i'll need a tcase that can hold that.

 

with a explorer tranny and 302 you could use your 1354 or you could jump to a 1356

 

the SAS is super difficult... almost as hard as searching!
