Spring codes?

Anyone know where I can find some spring code information? Like real, factual, in numbers information? I've searched forums and google, and it's like I'm looking for top secret stuff!
My Ranger is a '93 supercab 2wd and the spring code is G4E. In my FSM it lists part numbers for the front spring (G) and the rear spring (M), but make no mention of what the "4" is for.
It would be nice to find an accurate list with spring codes and weight ratings.
