Superlift guys with the coilover conversion, question for ya

what kinda of height did you guys get off the superlift kit combined with the coilover conversion? i know only a few of you have done this so far but im curious if i could possibly expect 6" off it? Im getting a 4" superlift kit soon and i wanted to get rid of my body lift but didnt want to lose too much height in the process. I know i could just do the superlift combined with the prekey mod and get that 6" easily, but eventually id want to do coilovers.

what are your experiences?

The coilover conversion does not add any height

It replaces Tbar front suspension

Yes, you can easily get 6" of lift. I have about 7" of lift in the front and 7.5" in the rear.

I know that it replaces the torsion bar setup, but they are "coilovers" which are adjustable, hence why i asked if you can get 6" out of them

I gotcha, I thought you were just talking straight up replacing them. KLC has the best setup hands down IMO

Keep in mind the higher the Coil-Overs go the harder the ride will be.

I think I got about 5” out of my SL and with 6” Rear Leaf (less the blocks) and I think at this moment that the ride is a little hard. (New tires and Suspension)
I am waiting for the suspension to break in but it may take a little tweaking to get where I want it to be for a DD.

That's true, although like you said that is expected with brand new suspension components. Once you break everything in the ride will be great. I know that my ride is leaps and bounds better than stock.

What height did you end up with ?

If possible can you get a pic of the Coil-Over Shock vs Spring height/adjustment ?

I am not sure where to go with mine so if I could see what is being done out there, might help !

thanks,

yeah KLC i love your setup, im pretty sure id be higher than you anyway if i did your setup, i was looking at your stock pic of your truck and it seems much lower then my FX4 was stock, maybe its because its the XLT?

Anyways, wicked setup i love it. what size leafs does the superlift come with? should be
4" arnt they to match the front?

You mean lift height? If so, see below. Sure, I'll take a picture.

You should be at the same height if you have the exact same set-up set the exact same. I probably just didn't have my torsion bars cranked up as much as you.

The Superlift comes with 3" lift blocks. You are supposed to use them in conjunction with the stock blocks. I don't care for blocks at all so I bought 6" lift Softride Skyjacker leaf springs and Belltech 6400 shackles, which allowed me to do completely away with the blocks. I have the shackles set for 1.5" of lift so I have 7.5" of lift in the rear. The front sits about 1/2" to 3/4" lower. I wanted to retain a slight rake so the rear won't sag when I pull a trailer.

The ORW kit came with Fox, and thats what I am running front and rear, I'll have to go back and check what size though. When you could order them they gave you a choice of how long you wanted the rears to be, I took the longer set.

Why all of a sudden did they just stop selling the coil over kits?

Had to do with a steering stop issue from what I understand.
