superlift knuckles

whay cant you just run the superlift knuckles without the rest of the kit on a 4x4 like you would run a spindle lift on a 4x2?

Because there's no room to move the axle down any further. The only way you have room to move that big hole downward much is to extend the knuckle down -- which requires you to also lower the mounting points or it won't pivot properly.

Ha ha, that too, lol...that's wha I implied with the pivot part. If you could get it back together, it sure wouldn't articulate right, lol.

It would throw off the alignment because of how much taller the knuckle is over stock. The vehicle would be un-alignable. It would also severely bind the CV shafts, if they didn't fly apart after the first drive.

They don't fit. If you look at how the kit works, your truck wouldn't go back together... you can't separate the upper and lower control arms enough to wedge that knuckle in there. Even if you could, your tires would be at all kinds of weird angles and your steering would be a wreck.

That's actually a false statement.

They move the location of the CV shaft down on the knuckle. They may extend the overall length, but it's definitely not 4in...

Same concept that the 2wd spindles have... they're not 3in longer, but rather the rotor rod (I don't know the proper name for that pd on the spindle lol) is 3in further down on the spindle.

I laughed out loud on that one.

The Superlift knuckle IS 3"-4" longer than the stock knuckle.

You can't honestly tell anyone that the Superlift spindle isn't longer. Just look at this picture and try saying that. You must have never seen a Superlift spindle.

BTW: that picture is just of the front lift (minus the 2 shackles). See all the drop brackets, you need them. They wouldn't sell them if you didn't.

not to mention you can't just buy the knuckle without the rest of the kit.

I haven't seen one really? I must not have put on the entire kit over spring break... You must not know how to read, because I posted a thread on it, Maurice.

My bad for thinking that the knuckle isn't longer, I thought it went off the same concept as the spindle theory.

Also, in that picture, where are the shackles? When we did the lift, it only came with blocks, unless it's an add on.

You can't say anything about not being able to read either then, look below.

excuse me for not reading and commenting on every thread.

Your signature says you have the RCD, i would assume the kit wasn't on your truck.

I along with Austin (who isn't on this forum cuz of 56k) installed the superlift from nothing, no experience, and because I have the RCD doesn't mean I don't know about the Superlift. I almost bought it, but was given a better deal on the RCD.

And that is how you learn.

You assume too much.

I've just done lifts on both 2wd and 4wd... I figured as much it would be the same concept with the knuckle/spindle
