Sway bar end links keep breaking!
Sway bar end links keep breaking!
Anybody know why these would keep breaking? My drivers side end link just snapped in half and was only on the truck for a month ... the passenger side broke just a few days later.
I'm not sure what brand they were, they were put on by a local shop. Do certain brands tend to be stronger than others?

Yeah I hate to keep throwing money at it, so maybe I'll just leave the swaybar disconnected. Is there any way to check if my swaybar is pivoting properly? I wonder if new rubber swaybar bushings would help...
I agree, buy one more good set made by moog... if they break, take 'em back and get them replaced under their lifetime warranty
While my Ranger was under the extended warranty, it ate sway bar links for breakfast. The dealership replaced them about twice a year. When my warranty was up, the driver side sway bar link flew off...I hit a bump on the road, heard a clunk, and seen the bolt and black rubber top bounce behind me. I replaced it with a dealership part and never had an issue since. Been close to 4 years now. I don't know what the issue was before.......but I'm leaning towards faulty installation on the dealers part. LOL
moog, and made BY moog are 2 different things
Ford uses rubber bushings? I swear stock links are freakin' plastic bushings.
true about the flex... i thought they were rubber, the bushings on my 89 mustang were rubber, i assumed the newer vehicles would be too...
i just got my body lift and my sway bar links have snapped off. I was from a ford tech not to bother install new ones cause they would just break easily again. Is this because of the 3" lift i just recently got? He said my control arms were angled like crazy. Should I just remove the whole bar?

body lift has nothing to do with sway bar links. are you torsion bars cranked?
x2. you lifted the body of the truck and haven't modified anything with the suspension so the links aren't affected.
