Torsion = Risky?

What are the risks I can run by adjusting my torsion bar to give me an inch lift?

Welcome to the boards man...not to be an ass but this has been talked to DEATH.... "The Search button is your friend"

Inch lift? Nothing.

redranger4.0 02-14-2007 05:32 PM

you could rip a hole in the space time continum.....but whats the worst that can happen?

happened to me :afro:

welcome to R-F

Rolldogg 02-14-2007 05:51 PM

Worst thing that can happen.......

You might need to get a wheel alignment.........

But ripping a hole in the space time continum is pretty common too.

Welcome to the crazy land of RF!!

99ranger4x4 02-14-2007 05:53 PM

damn man, it happened to u too?

only thing u have to deal with is the harder ride.. and get an alignment possibly

succombing to the "norm" of owning a lifted truck...
here is an idea, torque them down... oh yes.

lol jk bro, not a whole lot will happen except your truck will go up and your camber will be off.

n3elz 02-14-2007 07:21 PM

Do NOT, under any circumstances dial in an inch of lift.

The reason for the space time continuum rift has to do with the transcendental nature of torsion bar loading. Despite your best efforts, you will only tangentially approach one inch of lift and more than likely end up with 0.99999999999999... inches of lift. The problem is the infinitely repeating 9's set up a paradox loop. Any movement of the suspension will cause a sudden "rounding" that will ripple up the entire chain of 9's at relativistic velocities, thus causing compression in the time dimension (using a 4 dimensional vector )...

...well, I guess it's pretty obvious what happens then!

The only way to avoid this is to adjust the preload on your flux capacitor PRIOR to adjusting the torsion bars. Make sure to adjust both lobes of the capacitor since you will be adjusting both torsion bars.

Also, to ensure there are no problems, make sure you are traveling at least 83 miles per hour as you adjust the bars.

Really, it's quite simple to get around -- you just have to understand the technique. Mine only took me an afternoon...well, a week really but time compression resulted in me finishing the same afternoon. It's one of those.

A good tip is to after you finish adjusting those is to make sure you have enough blinker fluid. Seriously Im not kidding around.

dont forget to top off the exhaust

I think its 88 MPH John but before you attempt such a feat make sure that your flux capactor is fully charged or a readily available 1.21 gigawatts of electricity.

Yea I forgot to that last time and I had to get a new one :indiffere . When i put the new one on I had to make sure my muffler bearings were nice and tight. Gave like 10 HP.

I'm being serious, and you said "Yellow TRUCKS"

exotics always look good in yellow.

Good point, Im a dumb dumb.

99ranger4x4 02-14-2007 11:08 PM

i cant stop laughing.. this thread turned into such a bs thread.. but topping of the exhaust.. man i forgot too.. one of those small caps in the back under the second capacitor charged to 1.21 gigawatt's... always forget that one

DOH! You're right, and thanks for correcting that! Good grief! What a disaster that could have been -- and a new member at that!

I'd never have been able to live with myself...

Rolldogg 02-15-2007 06:23 AM

.......Blinker fluid......damn.....

I knew I forgot to check that when I was checking my other fluids. Last time I was low on blinker fluid it blew my muffler bearings out........is that a common problem with 3.0's and torsion bar lifts?

Oh, and will these wheels/rims fit my Ranger?? What about gas mileage and tonneau covers......tail gate up or down?

I love non searched questions........especially the top 5 repeats.

n3elz 02-15-2007 06:58 AM

And don't forget the Tornado or other brand throttle body spacers!!! That's my all-time favorite question that repeats on here... :dunce:

bryanjints 02-15-2007 07:23 AM

BLINKER FLUID MAN that is why I have had problems with my truck recently. I broke my blinker and when the plastic broke off all the fluid must've leaked out. I will get on this asap.

I love RF
