Torsion bar lift key - install

Hi Everyone
I made a little video of how I replaced my torsion bar keys to lift my ranger 1.5”. Just as a word of caution they are under a lot of tension so if you feel uncomfortable in doing this it would be better to take to the shop and get them installed.
Thanks
zac

Hey Zway, i have a question about the new lift keys you installed. I noticed once the new keys are installed that the adjustment bolt (not sure of the actual name) sits noticeably lower. Im guessing because its longer?? Anyhow, my question is... is that typical of a "key lift"? I ask because i have a 2002 ex cab, 4x4 with 31s on it. I was planning on putting keys on to clear 33s (its my wifes truck and will only see pavement), but noticed mine has long adjustment bolts like yours does now. Makes me wonder if the truck has lift keys already installed?

The rear of the truck has the factory blocks, and factory shackles. It does not appear to have an add-a-leaf in it. So im not sure if the keys are cranked, or replaced??

If you like, i can get pics to help.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

No Hijacking at all.... The bolts are actually the original bolts .... they are not longer but the adjustment is less then the original....

I’d look to see the distance between the bump stop and lower control arm.... if it’s small like less then an inch I’d say the keys are stock and the bolt is just threaded out. If you have a large gap over 2” then I think your right you already have the lift keys. I was thinking of replacing the bolts with some shorter grade 8 bolts. The fact it sticks out the bottom is a little concerning if I hit a rock...
any other questions just ask.... I’ll throw in my 2cents 😄

After looking at it, im fairly certain i have keys already installed. The gap for the bump stop is roughly 1.5 inches.

Im going to attempt to post some pics. (First time posting pics)

Maybe these pics will help clear any confusion from my part. Lol

Looks like you might be able to crank in the bolts for a little more lift, maybe 1 1/2", but I doubt its enough for a 33" tire.
Here's how:

After looking at the pics i posted, do think i have the factory keys? And maybe they have been cranked some?

Or maybe someone has put aftermarket lift keys on?

At this point, i could just use some help identifying them. Lol.

one reason I thought they could be aftermarket keys is due to the truck having rancho adjustable shocks on it. I felt like someone added them to soften the ride of either cranked keys, or lifted keys. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I might start my own thread, as to avoid hijacking this one and also possibly get more opinions on it.
