Trouble sourcing new knuckle. 2000 ranger xlt rwd front coil 10" rotor
Ok ya'll, here's my sob story. I cannot find a knuckle for this dang truck! A couple threads on my spindle nut broke this morning and the wheel started wobbling so I limped to the parts store, bought a new rotor (because i couldn't get the wheel nut off,) wheel bearings and the wrong knuckle and I put all that on in the parking lot. Oreillys sells knuckles for front torsion bar rangers and rangers that have 11" rotors, which is what they sold me and i put it on my truck before they noticed it wasn't for my truck specifically. I had to get the matching upper control arm (because the ball joint was different) and put that on as well; now the tire is tilted out at the top and I got 1/3 of a brake pad hanging off the rotor. The guy helping me figure this out (not the guy that sold me the wrong part) used to be a mechanic (really nice and helpful man named brandon), he was confused about why they dont carry it for my specific ranger and actually found out they can't even source the knuckle I need, but, on the bright side, they do have every other steering knuckle known to man..... He ordered me a knuckle from a 2001 rwd ranger that has coils like mine and maybe that will fit. He also is giving me the correct control arm for free after i swap them out, since they got me the wrong thing and I spent 5 hours in the parking lot scratching my head, taking crap apart and putting it back together...
Anyone of you know just what the heck I should do? Id like to avoid a Pull-a-part or junk yard because I want a new spindle on that thing; I'd also like to never do this again please and thank you.

Did the 2001 knuckle work
im having the same problem
It did work temporarily but I had to get the matching upper control arm for the 2001 knuckle because the new knuckle needs a different size ball joint. I did drive it like this for a while (because I had to) but the camber was so far off you could see it easily and it handled poorly and did a number on the outside of that tire. The solution I found was to get a spindle lift kit. This kit:
came with a knuckle that had the spindle mounted 4" lower as well as 2" longer rear shackles for the rear leaf springs. You won't have to change your springs or shocks for this kit but you will need to install adjustable camber bolts for your upper control arms so they can adjust the camber and you will have to grind the fat lip off the end of your lower control arms to provide the clearance for the new knuckles (instructions are provided for this). It is a hassle but it's not as bad as a timing cover gasket so I didn't mind too much. Now my truck is all sorted out, sitting on some 265 75 r15's. Hope this helps!

Just in case you don't already know this, you also will need to do the wheel bearings as well as the grease seal on the back of the rotor and dont forget the seal. Be sure to look up the ford spec for tightening the spindle nut for the 2000 ranger. It involves tightening it to like 16ft,lbs, spinning the tire a couple times to seat the bearings on the spindle, loosening 1/2 turn and tightening to a specific torque i cant remember but apparently its "supposed to feel a little loose". Take that with a grain of salt and look it up yourself.
