Icon5 Upper shock mount 2007 and newer replacement

Long time lurker and thanks for so many great ideas and repair suggestions to the regulars! Trying to replace a sheared rear upper shock mount on my 2008 2.3L Ranger. I know I have to drill out the broken one and will do, but the replacement part doesn't seem to exist. Dorman's site says their part is only good up til '06- as does Amazon, NAPA, lmctruck and even Ford! Trip to the 'yard to drill out a rusty old one seems an ugly option.

Does anyone know if the mounting holes on the '08 match up with the '06? Can I use the same part made for the previous years?

Respect to all the knowledgeable forum members and cheers!

Ford spent very little time and money updating the Ranger after 1998, so I highly doubt things like upper shock mounts changed in that time. The only year that I could possibly see them changing would be maybe 2010 with the introduction of rear disc brakes, but even then, I doubt it.

Dorman has a tendency to incorrectly list application info for vehicles, so take what they list with a grain of salt.

Checked with a buddy who has an '06 and the measurements match. Doing the job next week. Thanks for the info!

Job done, exactly the same part for the '08 as the '06. Drilling out the rivets is a bs job but you gotta do it. Installation is a breeze. Hope this helps someone else in the future.

I never drill out the rivets on these trucks, I just grind an X into the head of each rivet, and then I take a chisel to whatever is left. Once the head is flush I just knock the rivet out with a punch and a 3lb hammer.
