Crank the torsion bars (free) and visit your local junkyard to buy a set of lift blocks out of a 4x4 Ranger. They are installed between the leaf spring and axle, and look like a metal door stop.

2 inches of lift all around. go buy bigger tires.

He can't crank, he has no torsion bars.

Check eBay for Wheelsandparts spindle lift. It's a 3" kit and runs around $300 iirc.

Take a look at these.
