Who wants a fabricated upper arm? (fits ALL A-Arm rangers)

I was just about to purchase these arms for myself and thought I'd see who else wanted a set. We can get special pricing on them if we get at least a few people to order.

Its terrible, I know, but here is a pic installed

The arms come with bushings and high angle ball joints. Stock upper ball joints are very weak and with cranked torsion bars are put at bad angles. These will help cure that problem.

With these arms and new shocks you can increase your travel and suspension performance (unless bound by your cv's).

The price is $400/set plus shipping. I will be picking up the kits from him and doing the ordering, so if you want a set you will be dealing with me directly.

Very cool, if I had the $ I'd be ordering a set. I've got a few questions. Are these going to be a one time run deal or will they be available in the future? They are pretty pricey for what they are, do they come unfinished like in the picture?

BTF makes badass stuff, I lurk DR a lot and I've seen a bunch of their stuff and am always impressed. I think Keith's (08XLT4X4) bumper was built by them also if I'm not mistaken.

Heres a better pic of them installed on a coil sprung truck

ashame i just replaced my lower and upper control arms....

rideac1 12-16-2008 05:13 AM

I may be interested. I'm at work right now and somehow the pictures are blocked for me. I'll have to look when i'm at home and decide from there.

You said if a few/many orders are placed, the price is cheaper? Would it be cheaper than $400 ever?

Off-roadranger04 12-16-2008 10:17 AM

sweet would love to get a set but low on cash right now....tis the season lol By the way is there a web site to get those from? since i dont have the cash now maybe could get them another time.

the $400 is the lower price for us

seed60 12-16-2008 11:51 AM

Cool stuff.

rideac1 12-16-2008 12:40 PM

When do you plan on taking the orders by?

Fx4wannabe01 12-16-2008 12:41 PM

SO what's so special about these? I mean....what like high angle joints or something? Repositions the angle of the dangle of the joint so no more tearing up upper from cranking?

in all honesty......$210 every few years for upper moogs or spicers....$400 to the SAS fund is more worth it in my mind.

will these work in lowered applications? i need them to clear the coil overs as well.. will the ball joint angle pose a problem with a lowered vehicle???

Blackhawk 12-16-2008 05:58 PM

So i am assuming the ball joints aren't pressed into the arms nor are they powder coated?
Are they any longer/shorter/higher/lower than stock? If not then only actually ball joint is what makes these things special.
Is the ball joint even sealed? It don't look like it. How come there is no dust boot? You would have to grease all the crap outta there every time u mudding.
How is this in conjuncture with shock gonna improve wheel travel? All that upper joint does is keep the wheel alignment straight. The only benefits i see in a long travel situation is controlled camber in mid air. I highly doubt the UCA is a limiting factor in wheel travel.

They should work just fine, I'll have to call him and verify that. You should also have lenty of clearance for the coilovers as well.

Yes the ball joint will have a dust boot on it, there is none on the picture because they are showing the extra articulation available.

The benefits are, stronger upper arms, stronger upper ball joint, better bushings at the frame than the stocks.

And yes, the uca is a limiting factor in wheel travel. If you were to get longer shocks and upper ball joints that can articulate more, it is very possible to get 9-10" of travel. If you have 4wd, then your cv's are the limiting factor.

rstangboi 12-16-2008 11:56 PM

hm.....

rideac1 12-17-2008 05:02 AM

Are there replaceable, easy to get from BTF, ball joints if these would happen to wear out?

I'm thinking I want to order a set with you Alon. I'm upgrading my suspension this spring with new Fox resi shocks in front and hopefully some Long Travel leafs and new shocks in the rear, these arms would be a nice beefy upgrade to the front for me, even though my travel is still limited by the cv 4x4 axles.

Yah, I'll get the part number from him so you wont even have to go through him on replacement ball joints.

Yea now i think about it i would increase wheel down travel. I suppose this could potentially improve ride quality. I know my truck tops out alot over large bumps.

KLC 12-18-2008 09:48 PM

Will they be powdercoated or painted? Do they maintain stock heights? Do they have a grease port?

D. 12-19-2008 12:06 AM

Alon..

The thread title states these will work with ALL A-Arm rangers.. XLT/XL and Edge spindles take a different sized upper balljoint. An XL/XLT has a Pin value of 0.550 inches and the Edge a 0.700inch.

Does the fabricator have both types of ball joints that can be used?

Alon 12-19-2008 12:13 AM

There are different arms for each truck.

The_Dealer 01-12-2009 10:53 AM

im interested will it fix my camber with my leveling spacers? if it is pm me with some info...the tops of my tires are leaning in towards the frame like this / \ and i need to get it fixed

jckb4000 01-31-2009 03:32 PM

I am interested in some , but i need to wait for my tax return money. Will you have these around for a little bit? thanks pm me if ya can .
