Yeah! Here's the TRS link to what I was saying about the seats... http://therangerstation.com/tech_library/Seats.html

Redneckstone 04-15-2009 10:18 AM

you thought i was offtopic your talking about seats! lol

FRXLT 04-15-2009 10:22 AM

We need to sticky that in the int. section!

TrePaul86 04-15-2009 10:22 AM

Go read a few posts up by me. You'll see me talking about a Mustang MAF and Grant was asking questions about it. So really, not as off topic as your lame post mocking me.

i was joking around man lol.. jezz take off the e-panties lol..

also if you want expo leafs watch 2 doors alot of them are Mono leafs not 3-4 leafs

FRXLT 04-15-2009 10:56 AM

Here is what is stamped underneath on my expo leafs Tre. You were asking about it last night. I was trying to hold it steady in super marco mode. I'm going to go finish up my install now. BTW when I had my fabtech lift kit installed 4wheelparts never put in an AAL from Fabtech. The bottom leaf which was an aal or a load leaf has the ford stamped on it and a part number...WTF?!

so what were the measurements on the springs?

personally i would run chevy 2wd 1/2 ton springs. or order some Alcans for a chevy.

Mine rides great and so have others after the chevy 2wd springs.

Interesting thought guys, its pretty cool how much some of the members look into new ideas, scrounging parts from other vehicles, etc.

I agree though, explorer leafs seem like the way to go, F150 leafs would probably ride as bad as Ranger leafs with AAL's.

About the explorer leaf packs. From my understanding, Explorer sport 2 doors had monoleafs through 2000. 2001 and later had the multi-leaf pack that 4 door explorers had.

What were the measurements on the Chevy 1/2 springs again?

When I long travel my truck I may just run Chevy Springs in the rear or just go with deavers, but this temp fix for replacing my ranger springs and aal and not spending $300+ for superlift springs that are arched more and may cuz poor ride quality depending on one's setup.

Told him that when he found the expo. He got a leaf lack...not a mono.

Gotcha lol didnt know if you were referencing me

Beard, the 150 leafs are 1in longer eye to eye and also the center pin is about 1/2in further back from the front hangar. So ranger/expo leafs are 25-1/2in front eye to center pin and the 150's are 26in front eye to center pin. These could work and I'd love to see someone try them out! They're a 5 leaf pack I think also. Only mod that has to be done to run them is the rear spring hangar needs to be moved back 1in. Very minor adjustment for something that will give probably some good lift and slightly more travel.

Now I think what I'll do with my explorer spring pack is run this set up.. Top leaf to bottom overload.

Expo top
Expo 2nd
Ranger 2nd
Expo 3rd
Ranger 3rd
Expo overload.

This should give approx 2-3in of lift without sacrificing ride quality due to the rating of the leafs.

Either that setup or running the expo leafs with the 2.5in block eliminating the shackle. Jordan I'm anxious to see what gains you get from them! I would go back and say my AAL was never installed and I want it. Sell it!

FRXLT 04-15-2009 06:34 PM

I didn't gain anything but a softer ride. I am 2" lower in the rear then the front. I have 2" Blocks but I really don't want to run them. I could try to do what you said above tre but that would have to be another weekend. So I am going to roll pre runner style for now. lol

TrePaul86 04-15-2009 06:44 PM

Hmm... Maybe it has something to do with the mileage of the leafs too. That's why I looked for the lowest ones I could find. 63k is half of what my truck has on it now so I should see a gain from mine. Even if I have to, I have a wrap around style chevy factory 1in block and the ford 2.5in block with ear on the side.

Looks like I'll have to do the weaving of the leafs to gain lift. Glad you were able to document it though. We're always find out new answers everyday man! Thanks!

zabeard 04-15-2009 08:45 PM

If the 150 springs are that close then its not gonna matter if you change it. and if your running a bel6400 shackle that would make it even easier.

As for being stiff, I doubt it. As for adding more flex on the 150 spring probably not. The nice advantage to the chevy half ton springs is they are 6" longer in the front, the longer the spring the more it will flex and move.

Fx4wannabe01 04-15-2009 09:08 PM

He's running the RCD shackle...2" longer than a 6400.

zabeard 04-15-2009 09:15 PM

even better a 1/2" isnt gonna matter much with that much lift.
