will a 4 inch lift with a 5.5 inch coil make the ride bumpy?..every time i hit a bump i feel it hard...even the smallest bump..im thinking my coil is either to big or to stiff....what is your opinion on a bump ride?

 

are you talking like a say skyjacker lift whats ment for 4" and putting 5.5 coils? well its more of the fact you wont be able to align it worth a crap

 

it wouldnt set in the mounts right and its not about the lengh of the spring but more about the spring rate and compression ratio....

 

..damn..cause my friend had gave me this superlift or pro-comp and i had no coil for it..so i used another coil from another kit..but i belive its a 5.5..so what i need to do is find another coil with a better compression rate?..

 

well what shock are you using? are you useing the shock for the 4 inch lift? or one for the amount of lift you have with the 5.5 coil? as long as you can align the TTB properly you can use a longer coil. the stiff ride can be caused by having too short of a shock on it, or by having a coil that is too stiff and designed for a different vehicle or combination of options. if you have a 2wd truck with a reg cab and a 4cyl then it is A LOT lighter than an extended cab 4.0L 4x4 and some companies actually sell different springs based on the setup of the vehicle. my first guess however would be a shock that is too short. a little bit more information about your truck and the lift and components that you are using would be very helpful in answering questions.

 

i belive its a super lift..and im running pro-comp es9000 up front.i might try a larger shock and if that dosnt work.Im going to try a different spring rate...and if that dosnt work im going to take off everything and throw my truck over the side of the mountain.
I have a single Cab 3.0 ranger,and i think its a 4inch super lift or pro-comp..im not sure..it was just given to me .imma try a larger shock.....if that dosnt work then imma try a different spring rate.

 

Ha thats the hard part, ttb doesn't align for **** even when its got the right parts.
