17 or 18 in wheels

I currently have stock 14 in wheels and Ive decided to get some new wheels. It is a daily driver and has around 280xxx miles on it. I will most likely be getting either bullitt or cobra rims. I like the stock ride and gas mileage so what size tires should i be looking for?? so i guess question is best size 17 and 18in tires?

Are you two or four wheel drive? There is a difference in body height. I'm two wheel drive and have the stock seven spoke 15x7" wheels and 225/70/15 tires I have plenty of room but think that's the biggest I can go with out rubbing the fenders or the splash guards.

I hear you I don't know what ford was smoking when they choose tires and rims for our trucks but 14" rims are to damn small IMO but they didn't give us much choice to change them out either lol. I'm happy with my 15's but would like to go 16's to give my truck a little more ground clearance with out having to buy a lift lol. I have Yokohama souls I think that's how you spell it they are great tires in wet/dry/snow conditions if you drive in snow this winter make sure you air down your back tires for more grip. I keep mine at 35-40psi during the fall and summer and I air down to 25-30 in winter or when it snows. I've been meaning to make a post about doing that cause I don't know if I'm going to low or not but that's what works for me lol. I'd rather have grip then slid all over the road not that that's not fun lol
