1998 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0 V6 4x2 with 14" wheels but want bigger

Hey everyone, I apologize in advance for my questions on wheels but since my Benz sold today, the Ranger is going to be my primary driver. Right now I have 225/70/14's and I would like to go bigger. My main concern is that the speedo be somewhat accurate and that my MPG doesn't suffer.

Also my biggest concern is going with bigger wheels will it slow my truck down. My truck is already painfully slow. I hate it. I dont' want to go with huge tires and heavy wheels but also do not want to spend a fortune as this truck is a free truck to me with 60k on the odometer.

I don't know if what I'm wanting is not possible but I figured I'd ask.

a bigger wheel isnt going to slow your truck down. bigger tires will i would get 235-75-15 tires if you dont want to go much bigger and get a 15 inch aluminum wheels

Will Ford Explorer wheels fit on my truck? I find a lot more of those than Ranger Wheels.

Changing wheel size is gonna have little effect on the truck other than ride comfort... if you change tire size then your speedo will be off... you need to figure out what's important to you 'cause it doesn't sound like the truck is and I wouldn't dump a penny into it if that's the case. You wanna make a vehicle you like look better with bigger wheels?? How big are you thinking??
