I was just currious how long peoples tires were lasting. I am talking agressive tires or mud terrain not all seasons or nothing. I will be do for a new set here shortly and have only had my tires for about a year and two months. I have wild country rt mud terrains and they wore out way fast. The reason for a more agressive tire is cuz I drive in mud, sand, rocks, cow ****, and pavement on a day to day basis plus they just look better!!! Any ideas on what brand might last longer?

 

It depends on what kind of Mud Terrain you choose. I have (light) Mud Terrains, if you choose a light mudder, like Maxxis Buckshot MT, BFG MT, ProComp MT, Mickey Thompson MTZ, etc, they should last you between 30,000 and 50,000 miles. Now this depends on how you drive, how you rotate them, and if you have a corrected alignment.

Im assuming you got those Wild Country RVT's at Les Schwab. I work for them and honestly all the Wild Country tires aren't that great in fact we will no longer be selling them soon for this reason. If you want a mud tire that is going to last a long time there are 3 options that Les Schwab sells.

First the SXT mud terrain, this tire is not as aggressive as some but gets the job done. It will last much longer than the RVT.

The second is a brand new tire we are offering it is made by Dick Cepek the tread design is awesome and along with the SXT mud terrain you can only buy it at Les Schwab.

The last tire is the Toyo MT which is probably the best mud tire in the world. It wears like iron and provides tremendous traction. I have these on my truck. A 265/75/16 is the smallest they make and will fit on a stock 4x4 ranger.

 

Yup I went in and had them rotated and told them what I thought of their tires. I have seen the Dick Cepeks they are pretty sweet and for the toyos they qouted me 1200 dollars and they were back orrdered for a couple months. I have spent a 1000 bucks on tires a year with Les Schwab for the last 6 years and am gettin tired of it. Can they get ne lifts for rangers.

 

We can lift any ranger. I dont see what year your truck is unless i missed it but i have a 2004 and the lift we sell for that generation is a 4'' Superlift. Some older rangers i think we can get 6'' lifts but not postive.

Regardless of what the salesman in the stores are going to tell yah the tires I listed are great i wouldn't put anything else on a 4x4. Les Schwab is more expensive then most everywhere else but we will bend over backwards to make you the person with the money happy ie the warranty. If your not happy with the tires tell them. Make them give you a discount on the next set by bringing in a quote from a different tire store we will do our best to match it. Our store does this everyday.

Also they will try and tell you siping is the greatest thing in the world. I would sipe car tires and truck tires all day but if you plan on going out on rock roads, logging roads dont do it. You will end up chunking out the tread.
