31s on 15x10s....

....until I get 33s? I want wheels. Can't afford to get both at same time, so are there any issues with the 10" rim other than wear? I think it would look good.

Wow, I don't think it will work. Your tire dealer might even refuse to mount them.

It sounds like a broken bead seal waiting to happen. I'd corner very conservatively if you do this.

But, I really don't know as I know of no one who has done that.

a 31 is only suppose to be mounted on a 9" wide rim (maximum). Im sure it could be put on a 10" wide wheel but it maybe risky

The reason it can be mounted on a 9 inch wide wheels is 10.5 inch wide tire is only like 9-9.5 inches wide. My 33x12.5r15 are only 10.5 inches wide. I would strongly go against this, just put the money aside and wait man, it will be safer.

10-4. thats pretty much what i was thinkin....thanks for the reassurance. what about the looks of a 15x8 with 3,25" backspacing. I want a wide stance....i like the look of zabeard's truck. I think mine would look good on a smaller scale. No lift, smaller tires, wide stance. The image in my head looks really good.

my budget is super tight. Seems like i make enough money to pay bills, makes saving kinda rough. That's why i have to get one thing at a time. I'm hopin to save up for rims and have em before Christmas at the latest.

John the truck is lookin' awesome by the way.

The problem is when you corner. With no extra sidewall bulge to flex, you can pull the bead right off the rim as you go around a corner.

I'm seriously recommending against it as well.

It's not just the matter of getting the tire on the rim -- it's what happens when you "stretch" the tire to one side.

And thanks if I'm the "John", lol -- I need an avatar with the mud tires on it rather than just the "muddy" tires, lol.

15x8's are what I have, with 3.25" backspacing.

15x8 would work, thats what Rangererv has on his truck right now along with many others. He had them on his 2wd as well before he bought his new truck.

Here are my 30x9.5 on a 15x8 wheel with 3.75 backspace.

They dont stick out as much as zebeard, but they were decent.

With 3.25 backspace and 10.5 wide, you should be good.
Here are some pix.
