35s or 37s, your opinion

This Poll is just to see what everyone thinks I should do. I am pretty well set on my answer but maybe someone has a good point and will change my mind.

I already know what brand I want, dont try to change my mind.

35x12.5x17 or 37x13.5x17

Pros of 35" tires
-will not rub (even fully flexed)
-fits in the fender well
-$200 less than 37s
-gears are already match with 35s(no need for 4.88s 'Yet')
-chip is already programmed for 35s
-better mpg (hoping)
-less stress on the truck
-better for winter and driving in snow (narrow)

Cons of 35s
-kinda seem small for amount of lift.
-dont appear to fit the truck well

Pros of 37s
-big
-wide
-nice stance
-more ground clearance
-fits the truck better

Cons of 37s
-need 4.88s
-chip reburnt (if possible any more)
-wider which will be worse driving in the snow/ice
-will rub (cause body damage)

If I would go with 35s I could get the front and rear Aussie Lockers that I would like to have.

So which is it? 35s or 37s

ryanrebel125 07-25-2007 11:01 AM

37's all the way.

99ranger4x4 07-25-2007 11:02 AM

aren't u already locked? atleast out back?

i would say 37s.. they are an inch wider, does it make that much of a difference?

Lord Of War 07-25-2007 11:13 AM

I would say 35 until you get the super charger. 37's are some big ass tires for a 4.0L

I have LS front and rear.

1 inch will make a diff and big one I am sure.

I wont have the tires until the D44. Which will have an Aussie Locker in it.

camodown 07-25-2007 11:26 AM

37's would look good but sound like would be a pain.

I'm torn and not voting haha

yeah mine does fine with the 35s and 4.56 but not sure if i want 4.88s and 37s with mpg.

i drive 60 miles a day once school starts.

winks 07-25-2007 11:45 AM

I don't think there should be such a difference in the tires that you would really need to get your programmer reprogrammed... it should be simple mathematics.

Other than that, why not get the 37's and keep your current 35's for the winter?

bolt pattern changes for the D44 to 5on5.5 which is why i am getting new wheels

the new wheels are 17s

if i did what you are saying then i would need to buy a set of 15s as well for my MTRs.

the MTRs will be bald by next summer.(just a guess)

at least i look cool on my way to work. ive thought about my a new truck but not sure.

ranger 07-25-2007 11:55 AM

i say 37s and 17s would look *****in. if you keep the 35s lower the truck down 2-3 inches of more cause it would look silly.

Then I would check out the f-150/Bronco sites and see what you can find on there for a set of spare rims and tires. They've always got something there in thier classifieds.

SHOman86 07-25-2007 12:18 PM

me vote...37s

zabeard 07-25-2007 12:34 PM

the only reason i see to go to 37s is looks. and that just dont cut it. 35s seem fine to me so far.

thing i am worried about is going with a full width axle and the tires looking way wrong with it. like they needing to be bigger/wider

ranger 07-25-2007 12:43 PM

get the 37s

99ranger4x4 07-25-2007 12:55 PM

are u getting a new FW rear axle too?

i say go big or go home :scool:

HighRollerII 07-25-2007 01:20 PM

37s hommie

yellow rhino 07-25-2007 02:47 PM

37s

01Blueedge 07-25-2007 03:06 PM

i say go with the 37s and if you are worried about mpg i get 15-16 mpg with my 37s and 4.56s

DangaRanger99 07-25-2007 03:41 PM

You do alot of flexing, which is where the 37's would be bad, but on the other hand you keep your truck nice and i highly doubt, knowing theyll rub, youde do it intentionally causing body damage. So i mean 37's would look bad ass on your rig and look HUGE. As for winter i mean theyll be tires that are good in teh snow but it gets to a point where theres so much snow no tires will be good too.

Long and short of it is, ide get 37's itd look AWESOME man....I still gotta get you your pictures of that guys dodge on 17's with 37x13.5

LayingFrame89 07-25-2007 03:43 PM

37s i think that if you dont go big you will regret it later
