4wd wheels on 2wd Ranger (b-series)

Sorry guys, quick question, I've searched around and having trouble finding the answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to replace my wheels on my '04 b2300 2wd extended cab. I was looking at these wheels below, which I believe are late 90's early 2000's 4x4 wheels on Craigslist. What has me concerned is that the ranger station wheel guide says this.... "Likewise, any 4×4 wheel specifically designed for the newer, flat front hubs (without a hub lock) will not fit the front hubs of any 2×4 ranger. It’s theoretically possible to put torsion bar 4×4 hub/spindles on a 2×4 Ranger, they use the same calipers and ball joints though this would be a lot of effort".....

I don't want to get into spacers or mods, just direct fitment... Despite this statement, it seems that some people have had success based on what I can find here.... but it still doesn't seem clear to me.
Can anyone confirm for me that this will work??
Thanks so much!

I believe the wheels referred to on the Ranger Station are the premium alloy wheels with much smaller hub bores, like below. I also think they're mainly referring to the older 83-97 trucks, not necessarily the 98+ as I've seen the below wheels on 1998+ coil sprung 4x2 Rangers before.

Thank you very much for the reply and info. Gives me hope. I think I may throw my jack in the truck and ask the guy if I can do a dry fit in his driveway.
Thanks again.
