? about tires

Hopefully I will be able to buy 2 new tires in mid August.
I did look at the size chart.

I won't be able to afford all four. I was wondering could I get 2 235x75x15.
Would they offset the truck. It might take me about 4 months to buy the other 2.

Or should I just stay with the 225x70x15? I would like to go just a little bit bigger.

Are the 235x75x15 bigger than the 225x70x15?
I ask because at the firestone place 235x75x15 cost $100.99 and the 225x70x15 cost $109.99

tires that I am looking at are the firestone destination A/t.

the 235/75s should be bigger, but not by much...go to discount tires site, im pretty sure they have a calcator to tell you what the size is

could you just wait the 4 months and get them all at once, or are your tires pretty bad?

I guess i could wait four months. the tires are alright but, I don't like them. I have a lot of problems with them in the rain. i can feel that they make my truck break loose or want to.
I might be able to get all four tires but they will be Firehawk Indy 500 P225/70R15. Will read reviews on this tire.

I drive a lot on the highway. This coming year I will be doing a lot of traveling and a good amount of camping.

At this moment I don't understand this 30x9.5x15. How would I look for this in tires?

Did i do it correctly? here is the a website.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...t=All&x=44&y=9

If so i think I could afford the General Grabber AT 2 or the firestones. I will ask my mom to help me with the other 2 tires. I will pay her back on a payment plan.

Would I have to change gears? I like the look of bigger tires. Right now my gears are the 3.73.

30 is the height, 9.5 is width, and x15 is the wheel diameter...

you dont need to regear, you wont notice much difference, unless you want to just light em up all over town haha

I was following this chart.
01-06

XLT & XL 2wd

* 15x7 stock - 215x75x15, 235x75x15, 235x60x15, 30x9.5x15, 31x10.5x15(may need to trim)

my rims are will be the stock ones. Mom said she will help me buy the tires. if everything goes right.

I just want to make sure these are the right size.

Will they past inspection?

Will I need coil spacer ?

I am reading other posts. search button is my friend.

Ok so yea a 30 x 9.5 x 15 will fit and mount fine. No need for lift or spacer. I was looking at the General Grabber AT/2 which is basically a BFG A/T which is ubber popular. I got my tires from tire rack and they are awesome! Your speedo will be off a little with the bigger tires.

This is taken from www.1010tires.com basically a 30/9.5/15 is a 241 x 79 x 15

i liked my Nitto Terra Grapplers.. worked great for an AT, even in the mud where BFG ATs suck

edit: just remembered you had 15's
so unless you can get new wheels, i dont think you can get nittos

Have you thought about going the craigslist.org route and buying 4 slightly used tires on the cheap?

na I actually went performance instead of the offroad route. I got BFG KDW2s aka street tire. However, when I was going to go the offroad route I did alot of reading on the Grabber AT/2s and they get reviewed as high as the BFG A/Ts which are VERY popular around here. A few sites say the BFGs are a little better, but the cost is well worth the Grabbers! I highly recommend them although I havent used them.

Go with the General Grabber AT2's. I have them and they are an awesome tire. By far the best AT tire I have ever owned. They are quiet on the road(like most other AT tires), very capable offroad and have a 50k mile warranty.

Not to mention they look good
