Maurice loves BFG tires so you could run on tires made out of the skin of jesus, filled with the divine breath of god himself, and he could find something wrong with them.

depends on the size wheel you want to run.....

anything 17" and above, the Nitto's are sweet.....
anything 15" and above, the Mickey Thompson MTZ's are sweet
even the Mickey Thompson ATZ's are pretty agressive for an A/T...

my brother has them on his '00 Cummins....they have 35,000 miles on them and have about 30% tread left.....but that is on a HEAVY truck.....

on a Ranger i would be you would get close to 45,000 or 50,000 miles out of them IF you keep them rotated and the proper air pressure in them.....

and sry but another question, does "trueing" your tires really help with tread life?

I was more interested in saying that metaphor than anything.

Kumho Road Venture MT KL71

SUV/Light Truck/RV Radial

The latest in KUMHO technology has created a true mud terrain tire with great street manners and very low noise levels. The Road Venture MT KL71 is the perfect choice for the street bound 4X4 that wants the ultra aggressive look of an off road tire with large rim diameters. At home in mild or wild off road conditions, from tame gravel roads to deep mud, the Road Venture MT KL71 provides excellent off road traction.

Special Features
The nice thing about those tires is that they are almost always a VERY GOOD price, way under BFG. And they look really nice. Plys if you look up reviews of them by people, you'll find that nobody has any complaints.

Keeping them balanced? Yah, rotating your tires means they wear evenly.
