Best 33" Off-road tire?

Hey guys, whats the best 33X12.5R15 Mud terrain? I am probably going to loose the 35's and get 33's, and im just wondering if i should go with BFG KM2's or try something different..

I love the way Camodown's truck looks, his tires are MEAN looking, but are those good tires?

im gunna be doing mostly trail/some mudding(not mud boggin type stuff, just whatever mud i should encounter at the trail), and quite a bit of highway driving, this is my dd afterall..

Im wanting to spend 1k or less on 5 tires..

KM2's are my next tire for sure... for the price, I think they are hard to beat!

God,Country,FORD 05-23-2009 06:07 PM

yeah, what price are you getting? I keep finding around 190 per tire..

04_xlt_4.0_4x4 05-23-2009 06:08 PM

i would go with the KM2.... but if it was me i would go with a AT tire... i wish i had muds but the truth is at will longer and be better suited for your useage... have you looked at the hankook at-m's, nitto terragrapplers and i know that there are other aggressive at;s out there. this is jus my opinion but i really like the km2's

God,Country,FORD 05-23-2009 06:10 PM

yeah i have looked into the at's, but i just cant bring myself to getting an at.. i want toknow that my tire will be able to handle anything i through at it.

08XLT4x4 05-23-2009 06:11 PM

$190 sounds about right. I havent done a lot of pricing on these yet. As much as I HATE 4 wheel parts, they were having a special if you buy 3 tires, get one free... might be worth dealing with that place if you can get that deal

04_xlt_4.0_4x4 05-23-2009 06:14 PM

yea but if your in soft sand or anything on the trail then the muds will just dig in and make a hole unlike at's. since your mostly doing dirt and a little mud. i have the nitto terra grapplers and i have gone through pretty thick mud and i have not had a problem. imo i think at's will get you through any mud you would go through since your not doing any "mud bogging".

God,Country,FORD 05-23-2009 06:14 PM

yeah that is a good deal, BUT i ordered my shocks from them bout 2 months ago and still ahvnt gotten them.. not to mention the SL that i got from them came with the wrong shocks..

pace51 05-23-2009 06:22 PM

Swampers

08XLT4x4 05-23-2009 06:23 PM

yeah 4wp sucks. if I ever bought anything from them again, it would be in-store and i would have the item in hand before paying them

God,Country,FORD 05-23-2009 06:27 PM

yeah, the only thing they have going for them is alot of stuff on their website.. its hard to find another website with as much stuff as they have.. whether that stuff is in stock is another story lol

reader585 05-23-2009 06:43 PM

Mickey Thompson Claws thats what i got

190 for 33" KM2s? i can get 35s for that..

everyones gonna say something different. the 2 remaining MTZs have lasted what is now.. 2 years and have a teeny amount of tread left.

the LTBs Casey has a very well going to be my next set of tires (besides the boggers i may pick up shortly) They WILL be loud, they WILL be rough and they WILL tear some **** up (in a good way)

everyone loves LTBs. but they're not gonna last too long daily driven, I say try out the MTZs even though I've been hearing good things about the KM2s. The KMs have a softer sidewall/bead and one of my buddies has had **** jammed in there a few times.

God,Country,FORD 05-23-2009 11:08 PM

yeah the km2's are supposed to eliminate the weak sidewall problems the original km's had.. dont know if that is true or not lol.. I really LOVE the way camodown's truck looks, but he advised me NOT to get them since the truck will be my dd.. so ill prob end up getting KM2's..

xp1ik99 05-24-2009 09:47 AM

ah get some swampers

99ranger4x4 05-24-2009 02:40 PM

not exactly a weak sidewall.. but weak around the bead, like you can lose a bead a lot easier.. or in Roberts case, get mud/rocks/dirt stuck in the bead and lose air, he had to jam a screw driver in there to knock it out.

just get the swampers.. they're mean

xp1ik99 05-24-2009 05:03 PM

doesnt camo down only use his for wheelin?? im actually considering some ltb's and just daily them, they are cheap enough to replace at 15-20k.....atleast thats what im telling myself

God,Country,FORD 05-24-2009 09:15 PM

yeah camodown uses his for wheelin. I LOVE the way the LTB's( i think thats what he has) look. SOOO MEan .. and they are AWSOME off road. But i dont know if i can justify spending the money on replacing them every 15K.. which is how many months of usual driving?

99ranger4x4 05-24-2009 11:00 PM

20k is a stretch for bias boggers.

04blackedge 05-24-2009 11:13 PM

Casey's are nasty, so sweet offroad. I would never have them on a DD thought

My 33x12.5 KM2's are the best tire I have ever had, period. I have only needed to drop them to 18-20psi for playin on rocks and they wad up and crawl over everything. Not one cut in them so far. I daily drive on them 80miles a day and they are great. In the mud they rule, just a little wheel speed and clear right out.I have used them in sand also and they work 100% better than any other M/T tire I have used before. You should check the Silver Lake Sand Dunes picture thread cuz some guys were using KM2's there and had a great time on them.

DaisyDuke 06-03-2009 07:15 AM

bfg km2 without a doubt or destinations they lasted a while on my truck but deff avoid mikey thompsons

lifted_Mazda01 06-04-2009 04:58 AM

what ever you get, stay away from the trxus mts, i hate these tires, and thank god i only spent 50 bux for all 4 with 50% tread life, cause i wouldnt waste my time, but my favoirte tire i have had was th emaxxis buckshots, they rode excent on the highway, and in the mud, well i never got stuck with them, unlike these trxus, buckshots seems to be a cheaper tire to find, but mine lasted for ever

korey89 06-04-2009 05:09 AM

KM2's or MTZ's
