I have a '94 Ranger, V6 4.0. i Just got new tires and I checked my pads, rotors, and calipers. and found my front driver-side rotor destroyed by the pads, thus I'm buying one new rotor and caliper seeing as the others are fine, and new pads as well for both sets. i know semi-composite gets dust all over your rim. WHICH I DONT WANT! and i know ceramic heats up your rotors too much and wears them faster. Any other types in substitution of those two already listed, brand preference, types of material, etc. I would greatly appreciate any help/advice

 

I have always used Wagner thermo quiet brake pads. I get a lot of miles out of them, they wear on the rotor well, and have minimal brake dust. You can get them at your local auto parts place; advance auto is where I always get them.

 

I run the Wagner ThermoQuiet on my 04 F-150 and I already put a set on the front of my 03 Ranger. Like zero dust and great wear...
I installed the 448 MX 833 on the front.
Purchased online at RockAuto, and delivered with 48 hours via UPS. JMO

 

I just bought some carbon-metallic's. Supposedly the best they make. So they claim. Not nearly as abrasive as ceramic. And produce Practically no dust. Yet to see how long they last. I also bought new rotors and a new driver side caliper since my original was destroyed 60.99$ all together for pads. Another 64$ for BOTH ROTORS. And another 35$ for caliper

 

guess i'll have to check these out im so sick of break dust!

 

yea i smacked a curb when i first had it because i was a dumbass. I bent the caliper wchich then led to the caliper applying the pads unevenly which led to this! Rotor doesnt seem bad but the back side had not one bit of smooth surface to it. Completely torn up and front had deep gashes.
